During the world premiere of Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, it was revealed how the 11-year-old's multiple appearances on her mother's tour came to be. At first, Beyoncé wasn't keen on the idea of Blue joining her on stage (“She told me she was ready to perform, and I told her no,” Beyoncé said in the film, according to The New York Times), but she finally caved and let Blue perform with her during the song "My Power" in Paris.

Blue only had "a little over a week" to prepare for the gig, per her grandmother Tina Knowles-Lawson who shared footage of her first show on Instagram. But still, that didn't stop the internet from criticizing her "lackluster" dance moves. Following the initial performance, one of Carter's friends showed her the negative social media comments, and rather than quit, she trained even harder.
Beyoncé was apparently "thrilled" by her daughter's decision to "put in the work" and let her perform at future stops.
